The River Vale Free Public Library is a member of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS). This consortium of 77 public libraries delivers quality library service to the general public through sharing of books and other materials, purchasing, maintaining and sharing a computer system and providing common access to the cooperative's data bases. Your River Vale Library card enables you to access the collections of all members of the cooperative by using the BCCLS online catalog.

Enjoy reading 1,000 books with your little one!
Read a book to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler to reach your goal of reading 1,000 books before your child starts kindergarten. Yes, you can repeat books!

Log your reading in Beanstack and earn badges and prizes all along the way. Children will earn a prize from our prize box for every 100 books read. When you complete 1,000 books, your child will receive our grand completion prize and a 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten certificate!

How to get started:​​

Log on to the Beanstack site through the link above or download the Beanstack Tracker app to your device (free in Google Play and App stores).

Create an account and register for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge.

If you have previously used Beanstack to participate in a reading challenge, you do not need to create a new account

Record each book you read together in your child's Beanstack reading log. You can repeat books!

Children will earn a prize from our prize box for every 100 books read.
